film review

Milla Jovovich stars as a wrongly accused security expert on the run in this thriller from James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), a movie so full of ludicrous plotting and stilted exposition that it almost works as an accidental comedy.

Jovovich plays Kate Abbott, an agent assigned to the visa office of the U.S. embassy in London, who survives a bomb attack only to discover that she's the prime suspect. The perpetrator is a hit man known as the Watchmaker (a grizzled, squinting Pierce Brosnan) who never misses – except for every five minutes here.

Dylan McDermott is the only fellow civil servant who trusts her, while Angela Bassett, as a martinet U.S. ambassador, is far too ready to have her former star employee eliminated. Oh, and Kate has to get across the Atlantic somehow, to save New York from the worst-ever New Year's Eve in Times Square.
