The cause couldn't be more urgent: the demobilization of child soldiers deployed by plundering militias in Central Africa. And the face of the cause couldn't be more eloquent: retired Canadian general Romeo Dallaire, his soul still shattered by his Rwandan past but his mind alert to the prospect of a more humane future. This doc follows him into the hell of the Democratic Republic of the Congo where the roots of the tragedy emerge. That's when the awful reality sets in: If the child soldier, reckless and trigger-happy, is the "most sophisticated low-technology weapon system in conflict today," then the ending of this abuse awaits the ending of conflict, and thus of all the social and governmental ills that give rise to conflict. The horror continues.
