Dancer Christopher Body is moving back to the National Ballet of Canada as first soloist after spending almost two years perched on Broadway's stage as the lead performer in Movin' Out.

Body was with the National Ballet between 1994 and 2001, after which he took a leave of absence to perform with the musical and dance production of Contact.

In 2003, Body accepted lead roles in Movin' Out, Twyla Tharp's show based on the songs of Billy Joel.

During his seven years with the National Ballet, Body has performed as Peter/The Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, Rothbart in Swan Lake, Kastchei in The Firebird, Lescaut in Manon, Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty, Espada in Don Quixote, and as Paris and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, among others.
