Author Margaret Atwood is being honoured with yet another award to mark her dominance on the Canadian literary scene.
Atwood will accept the Banff Centre's National Arts Award on Oct. 15 at a writer's festival in Banff, Alta.
The award includes a $5,000 cash prize and two-week stay at the Banff Centre's Leighton Artists' Studios. The prize rotates between authors, performers and artists and especially recognizes creators who have spent a portion of their careers nourishing future generations of artists.
Atwood has won Booker Prize, the Governor-General's Award and the Giller Prize for her poetry and 11 novels.
