Help us shine a light on the Canadian skilled-jobs gap

A growing shortage of skilled labour in western Canada is prompting Ottawa and the provinces to cast their eyes toward Canada's immigration policies.

On the one hand, Ottawa has a huge backlog of immigration applications. On the other hand, the western provinces are desperate to find workers to fill the skilled jobs that will keep their economies growing.

Immigration and employment will be hot topics in Canada this year as Ottawa makes plans to overhaul the immigration system in order to attract "high-value" immigrants - people who can fill the roles Canada needs filling.

The Globe and Mail would like you to be part of this debate.

We're hoping to shed light on the challenges faced by both employers struggling to fill skilled jobs and skilled new Canadians who are having trouble finding employment in their fields.
