A 19-year-old student has died after being stabbed inside his west-end Toronto high school on Tuesday.
A suspect in the stabbing, who is believed to be 17 years old, fled after the altercation, which occurred at North Albion Collegiate Institute around 12:40 p.m.
"We're quite confident that we'll be making a quick arrest on this," said Detective Sergeant Terry Browne told CP24.

The suspect is believed to be a student at North Albion Collegiate, which is in Etobicoke. Det. Sgt. Browne said students helped police piece together a "narrative" of the stabbing, but declined to give more details.
The victim, Hamid Aminzada, was a Grade 12 student at the school. He was found without vital signs in the front hallway, but was resuscitated by firefighters before being rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim's father joined him in the hospital, Superintendent Ron Taverner told reporters. His mother became distraught after learning about her son's condition and was admitted to a different hospital.
The school was initially locked down, but students and staff were later allowed to go to a nearby community centre.

"This is a sombre day for the entire TDSB community, especially the students and staff at North Albion, as we mourn the tragic loss of this young life," the Toronto District School Board's director of education, Donna Quan, said in a statement.
A team of social workers was on site on Tuesday and will return to the school on Wednesday, said Shari Schwartz-Maltz, a spokeswoman for the TDSB.
The school, which has 1,061 students in Grades 9 to 12, has two school resource officers, two hall monitors and 39 cameras, Ms. Schwartz-Maltz said.
