Readers blast Ottawa over delay in Khadr case

A report about a delay in the decision on returning convicted al-Qaeda terrorist and murderer Omar Khadr to Canada was our most-commented story of the week, with 3,401 reactions from readers, many of whom were angered by Ottawa's actions.

Of those comments, the highest rated, with a score of 132 (233 thumbs up, 101 thumbs down) was by Compos Mentis, who wrote:

Rather than facing indefinite incarceration in Gitmo, Khadr agreed to plea deal where he would serve one more year at Gitmo, and the Conservatives would allow him to serve out the remainder of his sentence in Canada.

While I am not a fan of Khadr, I will defend the Constitutional Rights of *any* Canadian.

You cannot pick and choose who gets those rights.
